Looking for meeting site & date

Hi everyone! I've been looking for a park (or someplace) to have a little costumed "Get to Know You" get-together (thanks for the great suggestion Kristie!) where we could meet up in costume (whichever one we wanted to wear), maybe have a picnic, take pictures (Really, who doesn't need more beautiful pictures of their costumes?), and discuss what it is we'd like to do.
I was hoping to go out at the beginning of this week to scope out parks, but between the rain and a screw in my tire yesterday, I don't know if I'll get to.
So, any suggestion on parks or other venues we could go to that may have neat places for photos?
I was thinking of perhaps a metropark (I'm a little gun-shy of Kensington since something goes wrong every time I try to go there, but I'd give it a try) or Elizabeth Park (may be a little far for some, but is GORGEOUS),  or Maybury State Park (I haven't been there before, but it seems kind of in the middle-ish). These aren't the only options, but they were ones I came up with. Please leave suggestions here, or at the facebook page.

New Group Looking for Members

The League of Mode Revolutionaries is a new group to South-Eastern Michigan. We are looking for members who enjoy costuming, want to dress up, & have little theme parties. We want to set up an online presence so we can get together, dress up and have fun!
